Wendy was appointed to this position in July 2008, having been the Deputy Executive Director for a period
of two years. She is the first woman to have held this position. She has been with the Guild since 1992
when she was appointed as the Director of the Strategic Policy Division. From 1993 to 2008, Wendy was also
a Director on the Board of the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacy (AACP), an organisation set up
to accredit pharmacists to provide medication reviews in return for a Government paid fee. Prior to joining
the Guild, Wendy worked in consultancy and in policy areas, both in the private and public sector. Having
previously had a background in teaching, Wendy also established and operated, for several years, her own
foreign language translation and typesetting business which provided services to the Commonwealth Government.
Wendy is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
