Dr Goldstein was appointed Head of Clinical Advisory Services at Bupa in 2009, having been with
MBF since 2005. Graduated from medicine in 1979, had been Medical Director of the Prince of Wales,
Royal Hospital for Women and Westmead (public) Hospitals in Sydney. Between those appointments in
1990 2 worked for two NSW Ministers for Health and then as Senior Medical Officer within NSW Health,
providing clinical input into Planning and Service Development. Has worked in the private health
insurance sector since 1999, but currently also has roles as Assoc Prof (Conjoint) Public Health
and Community Medicine, UNSW, Research Director for the Australian Centre for Health Research, and
Steering Committee member, the Bupa Health Foundation. Other significant roles have included
appointee of the Minister for Health and Ageing to the Commonwealth Prostheses and Devices Committee
2004 10, former President of Women's Hospitals Australasia, served on several subcommittees of the
Postgraduate Medical Council of NSW, and has consulted internationally on and remains interested
in health system design and outcomes measurement.
