Ron Wilson is the Executive Director of the Health Insurance Restricted Membership Association of Australia
(HIRMAA), the peak industry body for 17 restricted and regional funds. Before this position, Mr Wilson had
a lengthy career in federal and Victorian politics having worked for the Deputy President of the Australian
Senate, a member of the House of Representatives, the Victorian Minister for Housing and Aged Care and as
chief of staff to the Minister for Health. He was elected to the Victorian Parliament as the MLA for
Bennettswood including serving as Shadow Minister for Health. Immediately before his current position, he
was Chief of Staff to the Victorian Leader of the Opposition. Mr Wilson has been a director and treasurer
of the International Diabetes Institute and is a trustee and chairman of the Sir Robert Menzies Lecture Trust.
