Our reason for being

The Australian Centre for Health Research has been established to do five things:

1 Initiate and promote intelligent, inclusive public discussion among all stakeholders on important health issues in Australia.

2 Identify and fund research into issues and/or projects that can advance the cause of a better health system and the wellbeing of Australians.

3 Test and extend research outcomes through various mechanisms such as workshops and seminars.

4 Provide a common forum for public discussion in the public interest that avoid the sectional interests of some existing health and medical organisations.

5 Develop programs for desirable reform and present these to key influencers and government.
