Megan completed her medical degree at the University of Melbourne and then undertook training to become an intensive care specialist, completing her physician training, anaesthetic training and post fellowship intensive care training. She has worked as an intensivist in both public and private hospitals and is currently Co Director of Intensive Care at the Epworth Freemasons Hospital. Recently, she also took on the role of Acting Executive Medical Director for Epworth HealthCare for 12 months and she is currently Executive Director of Research at Epworth HealthCare.
She has held positions on the Board of the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine and numerous state and national committees. In addition, she has a strong commitment to research and teaching, whilst still maintaining her involvement in clinical care.
